Walking Tour-50 East Washington Street-Walking Tour
(South Side of Street)

This house was originally built about 1855 in the Greek Revival style.

This house has seen major changes since the original section was constructed circa 1855. The one and one half story section with the gable facing the street was originally a Greek Revival style structure. The gentle pitch of the roof of the street facing gable and the one and 1/2 story with single story wing configuration are practically the only clues left to the original style. The 1872 Map of the Village has the footprint of Charlotte Pratt's home, since 1855.

The house served as a two family residence for many years. In the 1970s it was remodeled so that it might again serve a single family. At that time windows were replaced, a bay window was added to the north facade and the wood clapboard was covered with aluminum siding.
