Stream Outlot On The West Side of North Main Street
(the shore of the stream which flows from the lower Mill Pond to Park Lake)
The "Outlot", the property on either side of the stream/wastegate from the mill pond to Park Lake. Originally Lot 2 of Block 18 & 19 of Nelson W. Clark's Plat of the Village in the Southeast 1/4 of Section 20 in Independence Township. Now Lot 18 on the west side of Main St. & Lot 34 on the east side of Main St. or Outlot A & B.
The ownership of this property passed with the ownership of the Clarkston mill property as it did when Butler Holcomb sold the mill to Jeremiah & Nelson W. Clark.

- Note: All the properties currently located in the Historic District were originally part of a tract registered by Butler Holcomb with the federal government on October 22, 1831. Thus, abstracts for these properties, when they exist, show the original transfer to be from the United States to Butler Holcomb and may also include references to then President Andrew Jackson.
