(North Side of Street)

The house was built circa 1860 as a Greek Revival style farmhouse (a Midwestern adaptation of the style, that is, a one & 1/2 story section with a single story wing, to the east, configuration), the home of Thomas Broomfield. Turn of the century photos, Heritage, pages 7, 9, and 24 and 56/57, of this house show a long single story wing extending to the north with a porch on the east side. At the time a barn stood on the edge of the Mill Pond, at the back of the lot to the east of the house. In the late 1970s a second story was added to the single story wing.
